Solidworks

Cabinetmakers, speed up the way you work with boxes

The creation of pedestals or furniture that are mounted from panels can sometimes be a tedious task, even if it is simplified with SOLIDWORKS. With SWOOD this task will become rather a pleasure, thanks to this improved functionality.
You will notice that the first improvement is the command window and the choices (3) that are available there now.

Now it becomes much easier to insert a new panel

1 – Insert a panel and position it yourself manually.
2 – Use this choice to preposition the place where the panel will be.
3 – Delete a panel

In the environment for inserting panels, you will be able to use the graphics window to position the panel in which will be highlighted in blue when you make the selection, or if you right-click in the window. SOLIDWORKS, simply choose the position of the panel in the menu.

Now find out how to position the new panel with the constraints tools.

The new panel appears and new features are now attached to it.
New handles and direction arrows are clearly visible to manipulate the panel and constrain it and choose to change the type of constraint for another of distance if necessary.

The handles on the edges of the panel will help you to fix the dimensions quickly with the chosen plans.

Or thanks to keyboard commands that will allow you to make the selections that will perform this task with a single click, a table for shortcuts is included in this window to help you.
With the help of the new panel insertion features you will be able to create furniture designs from panels extremely quickly and efficiently.
