Integration of Netfabb into Fusion 360

Netfabb Fusion 360

The American software company Autodesk offers a variety of modeling software, including Fusion 360 and Netfabb. Previously, Fusion 360 software included CAD, CAM and CAE tools. Netfabb’s integration with Fusion 360 extends the modeling software with a parts library, additive system and material parameters, and simulation software. In this way, Autodesk aims to connect workflows, streamline processes, and connect supply chains to positively influence the collaboration between designers, engineers, and manufacturers.

Existing Netfabb subscribers now also get access to Fusion 360 with their subscription. This means they also get access to Fusion 360 Team and HSMWorks. In addition, Netfabb Premium and Ultimate subscribers receive Additive Build Extension, which is suitable for setting up jobs for metal 3D printing. In addition, Ultimate subscribers will also automatically receive the Additive Simulation Extension as soon as it is released. Netfabb standard is no longer available for new customers due to the merger of the two solutions. Only existing Netfabb Standard users can renew their subscription.

Fusion 360 with Netfabb is a solution that provides efficient pre-press capabilities, tools to optimize designs for additive manufacturing, simulate metal sintering processes, and plan CNC post-processing. This makes it a complete solution from design to manufacture. Sualp Ozel, Senior Product Manager for Additive Technologies at Fusion 360, says: “We see additive manufacturing as one of the most disruptive technologies in the industry, offering numerous well-known benefits, including faster time to market, lighter products and less waste. At Autodesk, we strive to remove all the hurdles that slow down the design and manufacturing process and instead make it a single seamless workflow within a single tool set. This change will provide Autodesk users with the right set of tools they need to both design and manufacture innovative products.”
