Webinar: How can the automotive sector become more innovative and competitive thanks to AM?

On February 2, 2022 by Regina P released

We find additive manufacturing in almost every industry these days. Many companies already integrate 3D printing into their production process and skilfully use the advantages of the respective technology to shorten the production time and save costs. Parts can be made on site and bespoke if required. Additive manufacturing is an essential part of Industry 4.0 and is used by car manufacturers as a game-changing technology to automate and optimize their production steps. The possible uses of the different 3D printing processes are diverse and are no longer limited to the creation of prototypes. The automotive industry benefits from the advantages of 3D printing, for example with regard to increased flexibility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In terms of design, there are unprecedented opportunities to construct lightweight components with complex geometries. In addition, tools, supplies and spare parts can be 3D printed faster, cheaper and on site. Reasons why experts already agree today that additive manufacturing will make a significant contribution to decentralization and individualization in production.

In the webinar “How can the automotive sector become more innovative and competitive thanks to AM?”, which takes place on February 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Formlabs, you will learn how industrial and production companies from the automotive sector are finding new opportunities to become more independent of external suppliers and service providers by combining additive and conventional manufacturing act and at the same time to manufacture more efficiently and economically.

Learn in this session using concrete examples from the Automotive Design Studio “Vital Auto”how SLA and SLS 3D printing is massively accelerating innovation in the manufacture of components for the car of tomorrow. Find out how our partner AMPrO 3D, together with the company Biconex, maps the workflow for surface finishing of SLA components and how these components are already being used today for various fields of application in the automotive sector through electroplating.
