mcgybeer’s dragon

We start with a print-in-place model, ie an articulated model that does not have to be put together after printing. In this example, it is a kite that was designed by the Spanish designer mcgybeer. The model became a smash hit with the Cults community, reaching 17,800 downloads in 45 days! Apart from the mustache of the legendary animal, the entire piece can be printed out in one go. The designer recommends a pressure of 0.3 mm at a speed of 8 mm per second for the first layer. The file can be downloaded HERE for €3.50.

However, the designer has posted a step-by-step video to make things easier for you. We’ll let you discover this impressive robot for yourself.

Self-printed advent calendar

If you are a 3D printing enthusiast, then you have most likely heard about Youtuber Heliox, who shares numerous 3D printing projects and her tips for successful creations with the community. This year she implemented a DIY advent calendar that is more original than traditional chocolate advent calendars. It consists of 24 small 3D printed gifts that are then attached to a garland. The gifts are printed out individually, including the bow, and also the numbers so that the days can be attached to the advent calendar. No pressure supports are required for the object. Certainly a nice idea for next year!

3D printed masks

Clown, Deadpool, Spiderman, SquidGame: the designer Bstar3Dart has created a whole series of ultra-realistic masks that can be printed in 3D. In addition to the artistic designs, he spends many hours painting, which gives the accessory aesthetics and realism. We chose one of the masks from Netflix’s flagship series SquidGame. This consists of three parts that are printed out: an upper part of the mask, the lower part and an optional nose support for people who wear glasses. The symbol is then applied using a simple stencil and spray can.
