Faster Copy and Paste access from the Right-Mouse Click Context menu

Solution:

Customize the RMC (Right-Mouse Click) context menu for faster access to WIndows Copy and Paste Functions

1. Within AutoCAD, type CUI (Customize User Interface) to launch the CUI Editor
2. In the CUI editor, set the customize tab current
3. In the top left pane (Customizations in All Files), confirm that the main CUI is current, e.g., ‘acad’
4. Scroll down and expand the ‘Shortcut Menus’ (Click on the + symbol)
5. Note the ‘Default Menu’ and the ‘Edit Menu’
6. Expand the ‘Default Menu’, note the menu items
7. Expand the ‘Clipboard submenu’
8. Hold down on the SHIFT Key and then select all items under ‘Clipboard’
9. Pick (left mouse button press) the selected items and drag and drop them above the ‘Clipboard submenu’
10. Select the ‘Clipboard submenu’, RMC and select ‘Delete’ to remove the menu item.
11. Drag and Drop menu items to your preference
12. If desired add a separator
13. Repeat the steps to modify the ‘Edit Menu’
14. Once finished click ‘Apply’ and ‘Ok’ to save the settings and exit the CUI Editor.
15. Test the RMC context menu.

TIP: If things don’t look or work as expected restore the ‘acad.cuix’

Restoring the CUI

1. Within AutoCAD, type CUI (Customize User Interface) to launch the CUI Editor
2. In the CUI editor, set the customize tab current
3. In the top left pane (Customizations in All Files), confirm that the main CUI is current, e.g., ‘acad’
4. Select ‘ACAD’ and RMC
5. Select “Restore ACAD.CUIX”
6. Click ‘Continue’ to confirm
7. Click ‘Apply’ and ‘Ok’ to save the settings and exit the CUI Editor.

Note: The option “Reset ACAD.CUIX’ will reset the menu to its default, removing all customization.
