Example 2 using the view cube to show the view and UCS command to set the coordinates

This is another way to work with setting the UCS, you can turn to which view you want to dimension in and then type UCS and V and it will set your xy plane to match what you are looking at. Then UCS World to go back to original coordinates. To be a little quicker you could also type View Front or Left to do the same steps.
