Mesh and Polyface Mesh Objects to 3D Solids in AutoCAD

Challenged by working with mesh, especially when it’s imported from other sources? It might be time to take a look at the Polyhedral Mesh to Solid app available on the Autodesk App Store.

mesh_to_solid_autocadAccording to the developer, “Polyhedral Mesh to Solid is for hard-to-convert mesh or polyface mesh objects that won’t convert to 3D solids because of self-intersecting faces, T-Junctions, gaps, inverted normals, etc. [Its] conversion method optimizes the mesh to reduce tessellation and removes unseen faces, producing a more visually clean solid without affecting the accuracy of the geometry.”

Other key features include:

  • Split a mesh into its component shells, producing a separate 3D solid of each shell within a single mesh
  • Optimize mesh for 3D printing

Leave your mesh woes behind and check out the app!
