Have You Tried: Creating Closed Boundaries Efficiently – AutoCAD Blog

The Boundary feature in AutoCAD can be used to create a closed polyline within or around a set of geometric objects.

The resulting polyline can be used to:

  • Calculate the area, perimeter, or geometric center of a room or a rotating cam or counterweight
  • Create an outline of a building to use on a site plan or start a foundation plan
  • Create a 3D object from the 2D polyline by extruding, revolving, or sweeping the 2D profile
