As part of the topic of Industry 4.0, the FAZ business magazine “Metropol” also recognized our 3D printing service

The Rhein-Main business magazine “Metropol” published by the FAZ editorial team was first published on June 29, 2016 as another periodic format from the house of this renowned German daily newspaper, whose task is to serve medium-sized businesses in the booming Rhine region -Main to offer a platform for his ideas.

With the title topic “Industry 4.0 in Rhein-Main – The creeping revolution”, issue no. 3 (published on October 26, 2016) now deals with the trend topic Industry 4.0, in the context of which 3D printing is generally also located (we reported already about it).

Industry 4.0 and its practical effects

As part of this topic, a by Falk Heunemann under the heading “Industry 4.0 – the small revolutionaries” deals explicitly with the digitization experiences of medium-sized companies from the Rhine-Main region, including 3D activation. Fabian Strohschein, the managing director of 3D Activation GmbH, gave an interview to Metropol-Magazine in this context.

FAZ business magazine reports on 3D printing service“I want to bring this production back to Germany from the Far East,” explains Strohschein, who describes the article as “one of these new (Henry) Fords”, with regard to the outsourcing tendencies of the past years and decades. However, he does not want to advertise explicitly with Industry 4.0. “We prefer to ask: How do you actually order?”

Our newest flagship: The 3D Activator

The focus of the Metropol interview was primarily the 3D Activator. This allows our customers to upload their design data, select the material – and then immediately have a price displayed, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. And that’s not all: The tool also automatically queries the 3D printing machines according to their respective utilization and calculates the real delivery time in this way. “In principle, we only have to take the order out of the 3D printer and send it off,” says Strohschein.

It is precisely at this point, the communication between machines for the purpose of process optimization, that the core of Industry 4.0 can be seen in an exemplary manner.
