DW Magazine reports on 3D Activation

The magazine of Deutsche Welle (DW) dedicated a report to a 3D Activation project

DW – made for minds, the English-language magazine of Deutsche Welle, has set itself the task of bringing current developments from Germany (and in this case Switzerland) closer to an international audience.

Since these developments, insofar as they affect industrial production, undoubtedly include 3D printing in particular, it is not really surprising that one of our projects also found its way into this portal.

Specifically, it was about the 3D-printed bicycle frame that we made for the Swiss supplier Thömus in 2017 and that had already been the subject of a report on the Swiss TV channel SRF1 in June 2017 (we already reported about it in this blog).

In this short DW report, it is mentioned, among other things, that the size of the frame produced in this way can be individually adapted to the needs of the respective customer. It is also important to note that although the bicycle frame was made of polyamide (PA plastic), the goal in the medium term is to print from carbon fibers.
