3D printing and Christmas market – in the north and in the south

When it comes to the Christmas market, very few of us think of such a little “classic Christmas” topic as 3D printing. It seems all the more appealing to us at this point to use 2 examples from the north and south of our republic to show that both can belong together.

Ganderkersee near Bremen

About 20 kilometers west of Bremen is the small community of Ganderkersee in Lower Saxony, where a small but fine Christmas market takes place every year. In exactly this context, there was also an exhibition on the subject of 3D printing in 2017.

This Christmas market took place on December 9th and 10th, 2017, including on Friedrich-Bultmann-Platz in front of the regioVHS. Employees around VHS director Jens Kohne designed an exciting hands-on program on those two days. This included a 3D printing demonstration on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Schonach in the Black Forest

The “Black Forest Christmas Market” in Schonach (in the Black Forest-Baar district) attracts thousands of visitors every year. In addition to numerous Christmas stands, the 2016 Christmas market in Schonach also offered 3D scanners and 3D printers. Specifically, in this case it was about the Christmas market visitors being able to scan themselves with the 3D scanner and then have a 3D selfie taken of themselves.
