Maxon acquires Zbrush

Huge news in the world of 3D: the editor Maxon acquires Zbrush, Pixologic’s flagship tool!

Pixologic has announced the next step in ZBrush’s story: the team will join Maxon and its software ecosystem. The acquisition will add state-of-the-art 3D sculpting and painting tools to Maxon as well as other 3D & CG artistic tools. As the official Pixologic press release announces:

This exciting new era will bring an infusion of technology and skills, which will allow us to take this pioneering spirit to the next level. After witnessing the evolution of 3D art brought to you by our one-of-a-kind community of artists, we can’t wait to see what you – as an artist – will create in ZBrush for decades to come.

ZBrush is used all over the world by film studios, game developers… The best artists in the industry have used this software for blockbusters like Star Wars, Marvel films or more recently Dune, and video game sagas such than God of War or Assassin’s Creed.
