    Improvements and modifications

  • Alembic : Read control issues have been improved, non-geometric custom attributes such as locators and nulls are exported, triangulation is improved on concave bytes, and performance mode has been fixed.
  • Civil view : A new GIF checker finds GIF files and lets you replace them with PNG files. This is especially useful when using Arnold Renderer, as GIF files are incompatible.
  • Modelization : Copy and paste modifiers now retain their names and scripted Booleans now preserve materials.
  • Performances : Performance improvements let you be more efficient and iterate faster.
  • Point cloud formats : e57 and PLY file formats are now supported.
  • Animation preview
  • Revit import : more flexibility by allowing you to select the criteria to combine multiple objects into one when importing. Revit interoperability now allows you to import Revit 2017, 2018, and 2019 files into 3ds Max 2020 without upgrading them. Additional improvements include IES lighting, better translation of Revit camera, sun, and sky, as well as improved stability.
  • Unwrap UVW : Flattening is an order of magnitude faster when working with many uv islands. The pixel capture settings are now saved and reloaded.
